Semi-Truck Fully Ablaze Shuts Down Interstate 5 in Castaic

CASTAIC, Calif., Mar. 26 (KNN) — The California Highway Patrol closed the southbound lanes of Interstate 5 at Halsey Canyon in Castaic due to a semi-trailer fully engulfed in flames around 9 p.m. Tuesday.

Firefighters responded quickly to extinguish the blaze. No injuries were reported; however, at the time of this report, officials had not estimated when the freeway would reopen.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
