Over 30 memorial candles flickered in Thursday’s dark, early morning hours at the base of the 134 Freeway entrance sign. They are surrounded by flowers, handwritten messages on a nearby board, and photos of the deceased rider whose passion for motorcycles was evident.

The crash that took the motorcyclist’s life occurred at approximately 8:34 p.m. on the eastbound SR-134 at Pacific Avenue in Glendale.

According to California Highway Patrol Officer Curtiss, the rider was transported to the hospital for treatment but passed away shortly after 10 p.m.

Witnesses reported that the rider was traveling with a group of other motorcyclists when he collided with the center divider and was ejected from his motorcycle.

The CHP is still investigating the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.
