Toppled Tree Damages Cars, Takes Out Power in San Pedro Neighborhood

SAN PEDRO, LOS ANGELES, Apr. 2 (KNN) — A tree fell in the 600 block of West 3rd Street in San Pedro, possibly due to high winds evident in the area, causing damage to at least two cars Tuesday evening.

The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the call shortly before 9 p.m.

A vehicle was observed crushed under the weight of a large tree trunk, with the rest of the tree laying across the roadway, blocking access. Another damaged, parked vehicle was barely visible under branches and leaves.

The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power was on the scene due to downed powerlines across the street; power was out in the area.
