PACOIMA, LOS ANGELES, Apr. 8 (KNN) — Just before 9 p.m. Sunday, a person was stabbed at Hansen Dam Park, located near Osborne Street and Dronefield Avenue in Pacoima, following an alleged fight. Witnesses reported that a dispute involving three individuals escalated into a confrontation, leading to one person being stabbed multiple times.

Witnesses claimed the suspects appeared intoxicated, but the specific cause of the initial altercation remains unclear. Among the approximately 30 witnesses, Francisco Villagrán Luna rushed to the victim’s aid. The victim, identified as Manuel, is known to frequent the park, often cooking carne asada and playing music. Witnesses describe him as a friendly individual who enjoys greeting others.
Villagrán Luna recounted that he did everything he could to save Manuel’s life, tearing off his shirt to perform CPR and mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. Manuel was transported to Holy Cross Hospital by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics in critical condition but is now reported to be in stable condition, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Law enforcement officials were at the scene, interviewing witnesses and collecting evidence. The circumstances surrounding the altercation are still under investigation, and the two suspects remain at large.
Violent crime statistics indicate that Hansen Dam Park has experienced a notable number of incidents in recent years, raising concerns among local residents and visitors.
