Witnesses reported that the bear knocked over multiple cans while searching for food. After consuming snacks, the bear chose to lie down and take a nap in the area.

The location features several empty lots where houses once stood, though it remains unclear whether those homes were destroyed during the Eaton Fire. The proximity of the bear sighting to the former fire area is believed to have prompted the bear to enter the neighborhood in search of food.

An apparent tag was on the bear’s ear, indicating that wildlife officials are monitoring this bear for several reasons, including research, management, and conservation.
