Los Angeles, CA: Three males were found deceased during a welfare check and a responding Los Angeles Police Department officer was exposed to some type of substance in Downtown Los Angeles late Wednesday night, according to Officer Cervantes with LAPD media relations. The unidentified officer was transported to a local hospital for exposure by Los Angeles Fire Department firefighter/paramedics and the coroner was called to respond to the scene for the deceased individuals in an apartment building.

LAFD Hazardous Materials Squad also responded to the location to address the substance.
Cervantes said officers received a call for a welfare check around 11:45 p.m. Wednesday, Apr. 4, in the 600 block of South Spring Street in Downtown Los Angeles. The welfare check became a death investigation when officers arrived on scene and discovered three deceased males.
Witnesses at the location off camera stated the incident occurred on the 8th floor.
Cervantes could not confirm to Key News Network the nature of the substance at this time.
LAPD Central Division is investigating the incident.
