Street Takeover in Compton Draws Large Crowd of Spectators

Compton, Los Angeles County, CA: A street takeover in relation to Cinco De Mayo celebrations occurred at the intersection of Alondra Boulevard and Atlantic Avenue around 1:20 a.m. Friday, May 6, in the city of Compton.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the location and dispersed the large crowd of over 200 spectators. Deputies detained and subsequently released two men in a vehicle that was stopped in relation to the takeover.

One of the vehicles doing donuts in the intersection fled northbound on the 710 Freeway at a high rate of speed, but California Highway Patrol officers did not pursue. No arrests were made.
