Rosamond, Kern County, CA: A disturbance at a Jack in the Box late Friday night led to a shooting incident with a suspect who attempted to stab a California Highway Patrol officer.

CHP officers responded to a disturbance around 11:30 p.m. Friday, May 6, at the Jack in the Box restaurant on the 3000 block of 25th Street West in the community of Rosamond.
Upon arrival, the suspect attempted to stab a CHP officer with a knife when an officer-involved shooting occurred. Paramedics and firefighters from stations 14 and 15 responded to the scene to treat the suspect. It is unknown at this time if the suspect was struck, however the suspect was transported to Antelope Valley Hospital with unknown injuries.
Kern County Sheriff’s deputies also responded to the location and stayed on scene to assist CHP. No further details are available at this time.
