Granada Hills, Los Angeles, CA: Just before midnight Saturday, May 14, three people lost their lives in a fiery crash on the 118 Freeway in the Granada Hills neighborhood of the San Fernando Valley.
The Los Angeles City Fire Department responded to the two-vehicle collision reported around 11:59 p.m. on the Eastbound 118 Freeway, just west of the 405 Freeway.
Three victims within one burnt vehicle were all pronounced deceased at the scene, according to LAFD. A patient from the other vehicle was transported by paramedics to a local hospital.
California Highway Patrol responded to the scene and issued a SigAlert for all Eastbound 118 Freeway lanes except the carpool lane. The transition from the 118 Freeway to the south and northbound 405 Freeway was also shut down during the investigation of the collision.
