Highland Park, Los Angeles, CA: Los Angeles Fire Department firefighters are working to contain a brush fire that is at least four acres in size in the 300 block of South Avenue 60 near the 110 Freeway in the Highland Park neighborhood in Los Angeles.

LAFD responded to the reported fire at around 9:51 p.m. Friday, July 1, 2022.
At 11:08 p.m., LAFD declared the fire contained. 96 firefighters stopped forward progress at just under five acres in one hour and 17 minutes. LAFD said firefighters will remain on the scene for an extended period of time to improve containment lines and ensure remaining hot spots and smoldering debris is fully extinguished.
There were no reported injures. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
