Highland Park, Los Angeles, CA: A motorcyclist was shot in the Highland Park neighborhood of Los Angeles on Wednesday night, July 6, and then transported by ambulance to a local area hospital.

The shooting occurred at approximately 10:16 p.m. and the victim was located on the 5900 block of Arroyo Drive with a cross street of Shults off the 110 Freeway exit.

The Los Angeles Fire Department initially responded to reports of a traffic collision, however, firefighters determined upon arrival that the victim had been shot. The motorcyclist was transported to a local area hospital in unknown condition.

It was not immediately clear if the motorcyclist was shot on the freeway or on the street where the victim was located.

A bullet hole was seen in the fuel tank along with the victim’s blood on the tank.

Los Angeles Police Department Northeast Division officers responded to the scene and are handling the investigation.
