Homeowner Shot During Apparent Home Invasion, Suspect at Large

Lancaster, Los Angeles County, CA: Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies from the Lancaster Station responded to the East 400 block of Woodlark Street in the city of Lancaster to investigate a possible home invasion around 11:10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 12, 2022.

Upon arrival, deputies set up a containment and began to call out to the occupants of the home. The Lancaster station received a second call from inside the location that the homeowner was inside suffering from a gunshot wound and that the suspect had fled.

Upon entering the location, deputies discovered one occupant that had been shot in the leg during this crime. The suspect is still outstanding and the victim was transported by ambulance to a local area hospital.

This crime is under investigation by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
