4 Trapped After Vehicle Crashes into Downtown Los Angeles Strip Mall

Downtown Los Angeles, CA: Four people were trapped in a vehicle after crashing into a strip mall in Downtown Los Angeles on Wednesday night, July 20, 2022.

The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to reports of a vehicle into a structure with four victims trapped at 5th Street and Figueroa in Downtown Los Angeles at approximately 11:05 p.m.

When firefighters arrived on the scene, they were able to free the victims from the vehicle. The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating the crash for possible DUI with high rate of speed before the crash.

Another vehicle was at the scene in the street observed with severe front end damage. The status of the occupant(s) of that vehicle are unknown at this time.

At least one person was transported in unknown condition by ambulance to a local hospital.
