Renton, WA: Multiple shots were fired outside a rental venue just before 1:00 a.m. Saturday, July 23, on the 100 block of Logan Avenue S in Downtown Renton, according to the Renton Police Department.

Renton Police Department officers found multiple victims at the location after receiving the first of a number of 911 calls reporting shots fired.
At 1:13 a.m., a mass casualty incident was declared with as many as 10 possible victims. Multiple law enforcement agencies and fire/aid agencies were called in to assist due to the large crowd.
The initial scene appeared extremely chaotic with many people seen fighting with police officers.
Renton PD reported in a Tweet around 3:30 a.m. that the initial investigation indicates this was a dispute outside of a large gathering/event which led to gunfire with possibly more than one suspect.
Six people suffering gunshot injuries of varying severity were treated at local hospitals and one fatality was confirmed, according to the department in a news release later Saturday.
According to Renton PD, responding officers and fire personnel dealt with a large, agitated crowd, while attempting to treat a badly injured man. This necessitated moving the victim to a more secure location. Despite their efforts, the victim succumbed to his injuries. The deceased was a 32-year-old Tacoma man.
A witness identified only as “Ciara” told Key News Network on camera that she was in her room laying down watching tv when all of a sudden she heard a bunch of shooting … “it sounded like a bomb was going off.” Ciara first thought it was firecrackers. She said that people were “running … scattered … cop cars … it was like off of a movie.”
Area residents had told police that they heard the sounds of an argument, followed by a large number of gunshots, according the news release.
Renton PD said they have yet to determine what caused the argument, and have not made any arrests.
The investigation is ongoing. Renton PD is asking anyone with information regarding this incident to contact Detective Scott Barfield at (425) 430-7534, reference case 22-7518.
