LAPD Motorcycle Officer Ejected in Hit-and-Run Freeway Traffic Collision

South Los Angeles, CA: A Los Angeles Police Department motorcycle officer was ejected in a traffic collision involving multiple-vehicles and a hit-and-run driver Thursday night, July 28, at approximately 8:05 p.m. on the Southbound 110 Freeway at the I-105 connector in South Los Angeles.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the officer was ejected from his motorcycle before hitting the center divider. Another victim was also injured in the crash.

Key News Network video is from the city of Carson showing multiple LAPD units along with Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department vehicles following the transport of the officer by ambulance to the hospital.

The officer was transported in unknown condition from the scene of the collision and was later confirmed to be in stable condition, according to LAPD Media Relations.

A vehicle reportedly involved in the crash described as a white 2-door convertible BMW left the scene of the collision and was last seen heading southbound on the 110 Freeway.

California Highway Patrol will be handling the investigation.
