The pair known as Quebec 1 and Quebec 2, landed at Van Nuys Airport after taking off from Albuquerque International Sunport in New Mexico on a two-day flight from Quebec, Canada.

The County of Los Angeles has maintained a decades-long annual lease with the government of Quebec to utilize the two Canadair CL-415 Super Scoopers to combat fires within the greater Los Angeles area.

The birds are expected to go into service the first week of September as temperatures shoot past the century mark across the southland.
