Man Fatally Struck by Gunfire in Officer-Involved Shooting at Federal Way Transit Center

Federal Way, WA: A deadly officer-involved shooting occurred just before 9 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 4, at the Federal Way Transit Center when a man with a knife charged at officers.

Federal Way officers were dispatched to the transit center on the 31600 block of 23rd Avenue South for a man trying to possibly steal a bus.

King County Sheriff’s Metro Transit department also responded to assist.

The man had charged at officers armed with a knife when police opened fire, King 5 News reported. The 50-year-old man died at the scene.
