Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies from Palmdale station and Los Angeles County Fire engine 33 responded to Avenue M and 40th Street East for a reported vehicle rollover with a person trapped inside around 10:50 p.m.

Upon arrival, rescuers freed the woman from the vehicle and assessed her condition.

The female driver had lost control of her sedan while traveling east on Avenue M and hit a signal light pole severing it from its supports. After hitting the light pole, the vehicle continued through the intersection and rolled over at least twice according to witnesses.

The driver was transported to a local area hospital, and it was later determined that alcohol played a role in the traffic collision. The driver was listed in stable condition.

The crash occurred just outside the gates of a United States Air Force facility. No further details were available at the time of this report.
