Historic South-Central Los Angeles, Los Angeles, CA: A victim was struck by a hit-and-run driver around 11:40 p.m. October 8, 2022, according to police.

Los Angeles Police Department officers from Newton Division along with paramedics, responded to the intersection of the 3700 Block of South Broadway Place and 37th Street in the Historic South-Central neighborhood within the city of Los Angeles.
When officers arrived they found one male victim conscious and breathing who witnesses said off camera had stepped out from a party celebration and saw a vehicle shoot three times and leave the scene. The shooting suspect came back two minutes later and made a u-turn and shot two more times without hurting the victim.
The victim reportedly approached the vehicle for an unknown reason and the suspect ran him over leaving him on the street injured.
Officer Drake Madison with the Los Angeles Police Department Media Relations Division reported that the call came out as a shooting at the scene of a party, and there were comments stating a vehicle fired shots and ran over a partygoer. Madison reported it was determined there was no shooting, and that a felony hit-and-run occurred.
According to LAPD, one victim was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. The suspect vehicle is described as a white 4-door older model car.
