Palmdale, Los Angeles County, CA: A street vendor selling balloons was struck by a vehicle and pronounced deceased after being transported to a local hospital Wednesday night, Oct. 19, 2022.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies and the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to the intersection of 25th Street East and Avenue S in the city of Palmdale for a reported vehicle versus pedestrian at approximately 9:15 p.m.
Upon arrival, deputies and fire personnel located a person trapped in a vehicle that had traveled onto the sidewalk and into bushes.
Bystanders alerted first responders that a pedestrian was still in the bushes and had been hit by the vehicle.
Further investigation revealed that a victim had in fact been struck by the speeding vehicle. Bystanders said the victim was a young Hispanic male street vendor selling balloons.
The victim was transported to a local area hospital where he was pronounced deceased. He has not yet been identified pending notification of next of kin.
The condition of the trapped person in the vehicle was not immediately known.
