Commercial Structure Fire in Boyle Heights Site of Previous Burn

Boyle Heights, Los Angeles, CA: Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a call of a structure fire around 1:17 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 27, 2022. The 100′ x 100′ commercial building was involved in fire on the 2400 block of East Whittier Boulevard in Boyle Heights, reported LAFD.

Firefighters used defensive tactics (from the exterior only) to battle flames consuming the abandoned one-story commercial building that was the site of previous burn, according to LAFD.

It took 24 minutes for 38 firefighters to extinguish the flames using ladder pipes and hand lines, LAFD reported in an update.

There were no reported injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
