Downtown Los Angeles, Los Angeles, CA: Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputies serving a search warrant in Downtown Los Angeles ended in an officer-involved traffic collision involving the Los Angeles Police Department early Thursday morning, Oct. 27, at approximately 1:48 a.m.
Sheriff’s deputies were serving a search warrant in the area of Lebanon Street and Cameron Lane when a vehicle involved in their search warrant collided with LAPD officers responding to a call in the same area.
LAPD officers had been dispatched to a suspicious person call regarding a man with a duffel bag near a trash dumpster near the intersection of Lebanon and Cameron.
When officers arrived, an unknown individual driving a dark colored SUV collided with the LAPD unit searching the area.
The driver was taken into custody along with a passenger. The driver was evaluated by the Los Angeles Fire Department for complaints of back pain and was subsequently released.
According to LAPD off camera, the passenger in the dark colored SUV was the person of interest involved in the sheriff’s search warrant. That person is currently in custody, along with a duffel bag containing a large amount of U.S. currency.
