Person Struck, Killed on I-10 Freeway in Downtown Los Angeles

Downtown Los Angeles, Los Angeles, CA: An unknown person was struck and killed by a vehicle on the I-10 Freeway westbound at the Hoover Street over crossing Wednesday morning in Downtown Los Angeles.

The incident was reported just before 12:15 a.m., Nov. 2. California Highway Patrol Central Division responded and located a sedan which had struck a person who was in the #1 or #2 lane in the main portion of the freeway.

The victim was thrown into the center divider after the collision. The driver of the sedan remained at scene and was uninjured.

The Los Angeles Fire Department was requested and upon arrival, pronounced the victim deceased at scene.

CHP officers stated off camera that the family of the victim was in the area, but it is unknown how they were involved in the incident if at all.

After contacting CHP regarding this incident, it had not yet been determined if the victim was walking on the freeway or was involved somehow in a traffic collision where they had possibly exited a vehicle.

There was light rain in the area prior to and after the collision. It is unknown if rain was a factor in the collision.

No further information is available at this time.
