Chatsworth, Los Angeles, CA: A vehicle collision downed a power pole and sheared a fire hydrant sending water gushing into high voltage power lines early Tuesday morning, Nov. 8, around 12:35 a.m. in the Chatsworth neighborhood of the San Fernando Valley.
The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a traffic collision involving a downed power pole and sheared hydrant at Topanga Canyon and Prairie Street.
Firefighters were unable to gain access to the vehicle due to live wires down and water touching the high voltage lines.
Firefighters transported one patient in unknown condition to a local hospital.
The department of water and power responded to the location and securely turned off the power and worked on shutting down the hydrant.
The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating the incident.
