Pomona, Los Angeles County, CA: A suspect robbed and stabbed a female driver sitting in her disabled vehicle waiting for a tow truck on the right shoulder of the 71 Freeway early Friday morning.
Pomona Police officers and the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to a stabbing victim around 1:46 a.m., Nov. 11, on the southbound 71 Freeway at West Mission Boulevard where they located a female with multiple stab wounds to both hands.
The female victim was treated by firefighters and paramedics at the scene but was not transported to a hospital.
The victim was pulled over to the right shoulder with a flat tire when a dark male wearing all black clothing opened her door, took her purse and stabbed her hands multiple times.
The suspect fled westbound into a residential neighborhood just west of the 71 Freeway in the city of Pomona.
California Highway Patrol’s Baldwin Park officers responded to the scene to handle the report of the incident which occurred in their patrol area of the 71 Freeway.
CHP was able to locate the victim’s backpack and a beanie about a block from where the suspect fled on the 1700 block of West 9th Street.
CHP along with Pomona PD searched the area for the suspect.
