Man Walking Through Woodland Preserve Allegedly with Rifle Arrested by Deputies

Lancaster, Los Angeles County, CA: Deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Lancaster Station responded to a report of a man with an assault rifle walking through the Prime Desert Woodland Preserve in the 43200 block of West 35th Street in the city of Lancaster at approximately 9:46 a.m. Friday, Nov. 11.

Deputies arrived at the location along with an airship overhead and conducted an extensive search of the property but were unable to locate the suspect.

A nearby resident reported seeing the suspect on her Ring doorbell camera walking past her property a couple of blocks away from the containment area.

Deputies quickly expanded their search area and located the alleged suspect sitting in the dining area of a local fast food restaurant.

Deputies contained the restaurant and detained, then arrested the suspect as he exited the location.

Family members arrived on scene in regard to the well-being of the suspect.

Deputies began a search of the area for the weapon involved and were able to locate it not far from the original containment area.

No further details were available at the time of this report.
