Shadow Hills, Los Angeles, CA: On Sunday, Nov. 13, the Los Angeles Fire Department was dispatched to two different locations on 9000 Old Buckboard Lane and 9000 Martindale Avenue in the Shadow Hills neighborhood to rescue an injured hiker who fell from a horse around 4:05 p.m. The two locations are known to have access to the trail where the hiker was reported injured.
A rescue helicopter was able to locate the hiker and two firefighters were dropped from the helicopter using the hoist.
The hiker suffered moderate injuries and was transported by helicopter around 4:59 p.m. to a nearby hospital. The status of the horse was unclear at the time.
LAFD used a 4×4 off-road vehicle from a resident in the area to travel to the location.
