Fatal Home Invasion in Encino

Encino, Los Angeles, CA: A fatal home invasion occurred Wednesday evening, Mar. 2, at approximately 5:18 p.m. on the 4500 block of Densmore Avenue in Encino.

Los Angeles Police Department West Valley officers responded along with Los Angeles Fire Department to the home. LAPD cleared the home and searched for suspects at the location.

One man was taken from the home and placed in handcuffs. The man was later released and identified as a victim who was preforming CPR on a victim in the home who had been mortally wounded.

LAPD is confirming off camera that a victim was pronounced deceased in the home, but it is not known specifically how they were murdered. LAPD Homicide Detectives are responding to the location.

Suspect(s) were seen leaving the location in a white BMW.

According to various news sources, an 80-year-old resident of the home was fatally shot. The other male victim, a man in his 60’s, entered the home just after the shooting. He was the one temporarily detained seen in Key News Network video from the location.

LAPD reported Thursday that they are awaiting additional information from detectives.
