Divers Search for Possible Drowning Victim at MacArthur Park

Westlake, Los Angeles, CA: A Los Angeles Fire Department ambulance was in the area of MacArthur Park in the Westlake neighborhood of Los Angeles late Friday afternoon when a report from a bystander was received stating they saw someone enter the lake and not come out, according to LAFD.

LAFD dispatched a “Drowning” response just before 4:00 p.m., Dec. 23, and initiated a search operation with Los Angeles Police Department divers requested, the department said.

At 5:35 p.m., divers were in the water conducting a search.

LAFD announced that the incident is now a Los Angeles Police Department operation only.

No further details were available.
