Lancaster, Los Angeles County, CA: A Metrolink train struck a vehicle injuring the driver at Avenue M and Sierra Highway in the City of Lancaster on Monday morning, Mar. 7, 2022.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department received a call regarding a vehicle vs train at approximately 9:18 a.m.

Upon arrival at the scene, first responders discovered a Chevy Volt had been struck by a Metrolink train. Firefighters and paramedics from Station 33 responded and transported the driver to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The cause of the collision was not immediately known or if any passengers on the train were injured.

Metrolink also responded to the scene and was working to restore the downed railings. There are no further details at this time.
