Man Rescued from Pickup Truck Stuck in Flooded Riverbed

Sunland, Los Angeles, CA: A man was rescued by the Los Angeles Police Department when his vehicle became stuck in a flooded riverbed around 11:20 p.m. Monday, Jan. 9, near the intersection of Big Tujunga Canyon Road and Oro Vista Avenue in the Sunland neighborhood of the city of Los Angeles.

The man was in his pickup truck in the riverbed when the rain began and was stuck in his vehicle as the water level began to rise.

The victim called 911 and requested help.

The Los Angeles Fire Department and LAPD Foothill Division officers responded and were able to make access to the victim.

He was assisted out of his vehicle and was able to walk up and out of the riverbed.

LAFD assessed the victim and released him at the scene.
