3 Killed, 4 Wounded in Shooting at Short Term Rental Home in Los Angeles Neighborhood

Beverly Crest, Los Angeles, CA: A total of seven people were shot, three fatally, at a short term rental early Saturday morning in the Beverly Crest neighborhood within the Westside area of the city of Los Angeles.

Public Information Officer Bruce Borihanh with the Los Angeles Police Department provided information regarding the shooting that took place early Saturday morning, Jan. 28, around 2:30 a.m. at which time multiple calls were placed to LAPD West Los Angeles officers of a shooting with people down on the 2700 block of Ellison Drive.

When officers arrived at the location, they found five victims suffering from gunshot wounds, according to Borihanh. The Los Angeles Fire Department responded and pronounced three of the victims deceased at the scene.

Two of those victims were transported to a local hospital by LAFD ambulance, and two self transported before officers arrived at the scene with a total of four victims at the hospital, Borihanh confirmed.

Two are in critical condition and two in stable condition at the hospital, reported Borihanh.

LAPD is waiting for the coroner to arrive and determine the ages and gender of those deceased.

At this time, Borihanh said they have learned that the residence is a shot term rental and they are interviewing additional occupants, as well as witnesses and neighbors. Borihanh could not confirm at this time if the shooting occurred during a party at the residence.

Investigators are going door to door looking for any additional surveillance footage and any information that can help LAPD to determine what transpired at the location.

Borihanh stated there is currently no suspect description.
