Fullerton, Orange County, CA: A bicyclist was found deceased on the northbound lanes of Beach Boulevard in the city of Fullerton Saturday afternoon prompting closure of CA-39.
Deputies with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department received calls for a possible hit-and-run traffic collision that took place on Beach Boulevard and Rosecrans Avenue shortly after 12:30 p.m., Jan. 28.
Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics arrived to find deputies performing CPR on a bicyclist in the northbound Number 3 lane of travel.
Paramedics quickly declared the bicyclist deceased at the scene.
There is currently no information on whether the bicyclist was possibly side swiped by a passing vehicle that failed to stop or if the bicyclist collided into the back of a parked landscaping truck, or if both factors were involved at the same time.
Fullerton Police officers have taken over the scene due to the incident occurring on their side of the city limit.
Beach Boulevard remained closed from Rosecrans Avenue to Hawks Point Drive for an unknown amount of time as officers investigated the circumstances surrounding the death of the bicyclist.
