Fullerton Police Department officers were in vehicle pursuit of a felony armed and dangerous suspect early Friday morning, Feb. 10, when the pursuit entered into La Habra.

The suspect went north, then west on Whittier Boulevard, before turning south onto Beach Boulevard.

When the pursuit reached Imperial Highway, the suspect collided with a black BMW in the intersection, sending the suspect’s vehicle flipping over into a gas station lot.

The suspect ran out of the overturned vehicle before officers opened fire on the suspect. The suspect was struck by multiple rounds.

Officers were seen attempting to administer CPR on the suspect as the rolled over vehicle caught fire nearby.

Firefighters from Los Angeles County Fire Department arrived a short time later and extinguished the blaze.

Paramedics responded and declared the suspect deceased at scene. It is unclear what led to shots fired.

The innocent motorist from the BMW was led to a nearby bus stop bench and assessed for injuries sustained from the crash. He was eventually loaded onto a gurney and transported to a local trauma center with unknown injuries.

All directions of Beach Boulevard and Imperial Highway were closed until further notice at the intersection.

This report will be updated if more information becomes available.
