Man Arrested for Fatally Shooting His Sister

Newbury Park, Ventura County, CA: A 33-year-old man was arrested after allegedly shooting and killing his 25-year-old sister early Friday morning, Feb. 17, inside a residence in Newbury Park.

Ventura County Sheriff’s Thousand Oaks Patrol deputies responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call around 1:12 a.m. from the 100 block of Sandra Court where arriving deputies contacted Brennan Post and other family members who reside at the residence, according to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office news release of the incident.

“During the initial contact, patrol deputies learned Brennan had shot his sister Cassidy Snow. Shorty after, medical personnel arrived on scene and pronounced Cassidy deceased. Brennan was arrested at the scene,” stated the sheriff’s office.

A firearm was recovered at the residence after detectives executed a search warrant.

According to the sheriff’s office, Brennan was booked for murder at the pre-trial detention facility and is currently being held on a $2,000,000 bail.
