Driver Survives Collision with Tree, Fire Hydrant

Lancaster, Los Angeles County, CA: A driver survived a crash into a tree and fire hydrant which sent water gushing skyward early Saturday morning, Feb. 18, in the city of Lancaster.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department received a 911 call around 1:46 a.m. regarding a single-vehicle traffic collision on the 43100 block of Division Street where responding deputies found an SUV that collided with a tree and fire hydrant.

Firefighter/paramedics also responded to the scene to treat the patient, who was transported later to a local hospital with unknown injuries.

The driver was observed standing after the crash and speaking with responders at the scene of the totaled vehicle.

The cause of the collision is unknown at this time.
