Southern CA: Some neighborhoods resembled mountain communities after a decent amount of pea sized hail pelted Southern California areas late Thursday morning, Feb. 23, along with rain and thunder drenching nearby communities.
Streets, lawns, rooftops and even an In-N-Out sign near Whittier Boulevard and Hacienda Road in the city of La Habra had ice covering the ground around it.
A thunderstorm cell passed through shortly before noon bringing lightning, heavy rain, and thunder to nearby areas including East Whittier.
Loud thunder can be heard about a minute and a half into Key News Network video as heavy rain poured down on the Whittier neighborhood.
A very cold winter storm bringing scattered moisture to the area is expected to last into Saturday.
