Mountain Lion Struck, Killed on 118 Freeway

Simi Valley, Ventura County, CA: A mountain lion was struck and killed on the 118 Freeway late Thursday night, Feb. 23.

California Highway Patrol Moorpark officers responded to a call of a vehicle versus mountain lion on the westbound 118 Freeway at Kuehner Drive in the city of Simi Valley.

Officers located the deceased mountain lion between the number 1 and 2 lanes.

A white Audi at the scene involved in the collision, was observed with damage on the right front and passenger side of the vehicle. The driver was not injured.

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife was notified of the freeway death of the animal.
