Gahr High School Parking Lot Shooting Leaves 1 Injured, 4 Detained

Cerritos, Los Angeles County, CA: A person was critically injured and four persons of interest were detained nearby following a shooting at a high school parking lot early Monday morning, Feb. 27.

The investigation remains very active after Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies and Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics responded to Gahr High School on the 11100 block of Artesia Boulevard in the city of Cerritos regarding shots fired with a victim down just before 2:00 a.m.

A possible white Dodge Charger was seen fleeing northbound from the location after shots were fired.

As deputies were arriving on scene, they located the Charger on Studebaker just north of Artesia Boulevard and conducted a high risk felony stop.

Four people were taken into custody while a witness to the shooting attempted to positively identify the shooter(s).

The parking lot was cordoned off, with evidence observed scattered around an older model Toyota Corolla in the corner of the lot.

Details regarding the victim and what led to the shooting still remain unclear.
