Disturbance at Detention Center Prompts Paramedic Response

Castaic, Los Angeles County, CA: Shortly after 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, several ambulances, fire engines and paramedic units responded to the Peter J. Pitchess Detention Center in the unincorporated community of Castaic concerning reports of a massive disturbance within the North County Correction Facility area.

Seventeen people were reportedly examined by paramedics for medical issues or injuries resulting from the disturbance at the facility located on the 29300 block of The Old Road.

Los Angeles County Fire Department reported three people were transported to a hospital; one suffered severe injuries, and two others sustained moderate injuries.

There is no additional information available at this time from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
