CHP Struck by Vehicle in East Los Angeles Traffic Collision

East Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, CA: A California Highway Patrol vehicle was struck by a sedan at the intersection of 1st and Eastern Avenue at midnight Thursday morning, Mar. 9, in the city of East Los Angeles.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department East L.A. Station deputies responded to the collision reported by the officer involved, and assisted CHP at the crash site.

Both vehicles sustained significant damage.

L.A. County Fire Department personnel responded to the scene and transported at least one CHP officer to a local area hospital in unknown condition.

The condition of the occupant of the sedan was not immediately known. However, officers were observed in contact with an individual at the scene.
