Man Found Fatally Shot in Vehicle Prompts Homicide Investigation

La Mirada, Los Angeles County, CA: A man was shot and killed Wednesday night while driving his car in the city of La Mirada, prompting a homicide investigation by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

LASD deputies responded to the 13900 block of Rosecrans Avenue near Marquardt Avenue around 9:15 p.m., Mar. 29, regarding a shooting victim.

Arriving authorities located a single male adult inside a vehicle, not conscious and not breathing.

Santa Fe Springs Fire Department personnel attempted life-saving measures on the victim, however, they were unsuccessful. The victim was pronounced deceased at the location.

The victim appeared to have been driving westbound on Rosecrans Avenue when an unknown person opened fire on the vehicle, striking the victim.

The car continued until it crashed onto a sidewalk.

LASD Homicide investigators arrived on scene and took over the investigation in conjunction with LASD Norwalk Station.

All directions of Rosecrans Avenue remained closed between Carmenita Road and Valley View Avenue while the investigation was in progress.
