Bakersfield Bicyclist Killed in Hit-and-Run Traffic Collision

Bakersfield, Kern County, CA: A bicyclist was fatally struck in a hit-and-run traffic collision late Monday night in the city of Bakersfield.

The incident was reported around 11:00 p.m., Apr. 3, on the 2900 block of Brundage Lane. The vehicle involved in hitting the bicyclist fled the scene.

Kern County Fire Department arrived at the location along with HALL ambulance EMTs to attempt life-saving measures on the victim. Unfortunately, the bicyclist succumbed to injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Bakersfield Police Department responded to the location and is handling the investigation.

The street was closed to traffic in both directions and diverted around the area.
