Large Water Main Break Gushes Gallons of Water Into Attached Garage of Northridge Home

Northridge, Los Angeles, CA: A water main break forcefully sent gallons of water onto the property of a home, flooding the three-car attached garage early Wednesday morning.

The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a large water main break around 12:50 a.m., Apr. 12, that was spraying high pressure water into a garage as well as flooding the street in the 10900 block of North Melvin Avenue in the Northridge neighborhood in the San Fernando Valley region of Los Angeles.

LAFD requested the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power to assist with shutting off the main.

Water is seen on Key News Network video from the location traveling down 10 blocks toward Chatsworth Street.

Two people were briefly seen outside the front of the home observing the gushing water as it damaged the property.
