2 CHP Officers Struck by Vehicle on 215 Freeway

San Bernardino, San Bernardino County, CA: Two California Highway Patrol officers were struck by a possible DUI driver early Sunday morning.

The incident occurred on the northbound 215 Freeway at University Parkway in the city of San Bernardino just before 3:30 a.m., Apr. 23.

Both officers were transported to a local hospital in unknown condition. It is unclear at this time if anyone else was transported.

The officers were on the scene of a three-vehicle traffic collision when they were rear-ended by a Jeep.

CHP placed one male into custody at the scene.

Only one lane was open for the northbound 215 Freeway at the time of the crash. CHP issued a SigAlert for the duration of the investigation.
