Driver Killed in Fiery Crash Into Pole

Hacienda Heights, Los Angeles County, CA: A driver was killed in a single-vehicle crash into a pole that involved fire early Monday morning.

California Highway Patrol and the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department along with the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to a traffic collision with fire around 2:21 a.m., May 1, at Colima Road and South Camino Del Sur in the Hacienda Heights community within Los Angeles County.

Officers and firefighters arrived on scene and located one vehicle into a light pole on fire. Once firefighters doused the flames, they found a body inside the driver seat.

The driver of the vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene by firefighters and paramedics.

CHP Santa Fe Springs Station will be taking over the investigation into the fatal traffic collision. All traffic was diverted away from the scene of the crash.
