Arson Possible Cause of Commercial Building Fire

Sherman Oaks, Los Angeles, CA: A one-story commercial structure fire was quickly extinguished by the Los Angeles Fire Department early Monday morning.

A 911 call was received at 1:37 a.m., May 8, reporting the fire on the 14400 block of Ventura Boulevard in the Sherman Oaks neighborhood within the San Fernando Valley.

Firefighters arrived to find light smoke showing from the approximately 100′ x 50′ building.

The fire department reported 30 firefighters were on scene in offensive mode and extinguished the flames in 27 minutes. No injuries were reported.

A resident in an apartment complex behind the store reportedly has Ring camera video of an arsonist allegedly setting a trash can and building on fire but refused to share the video.
