Man Arrested For Assault With Deadly Weapon, Elder Abuse

Saugus, Santa Clarita, CA: A man was arrested in connection with an assault with a deadly weapon and elder abuse in Saugus Friday morning.

The incident was first reported at approximately 8:15 a.m., May 12, on the 22900 block of Cuervo Drive near Palacete Drive.

According to deputies, the man was taken into custody for beating his father with a baseball bat.

The victim, reportedly in his 70s, was rushed to a trauma center in unknown condition.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Crime Lab responded to the location and documented the home’s interior and exterior.

Several evidence bags were brought into the home. The incident remains under investigation and is not a homicide as of 2 p.m. Friday.
