Bullet Strikes Vehicle in Echo Park, Uber Driver Injured

Echo Park, Los Angeles, CA: Los Angeles Police Department officers responded to a call regarding a shooting of an Uber driver in the hand early Saturday morning.

The shooting was reported just before 12:30 a.m., May 13, on Lemoyne Street and Sunset Boulevard in the Echo Park neighborhood of Los Angeles.

An unidentified individual allegedly fired a gun at the location, striking a vehicle and injuring an Uber driver’s hand. A bullet hole was observed in the drivers side door.

The Los Angeles Fire Department personnel arrived at the scene and began medical aid to the injured victim who declined transport to a local hospital.

No one else was reported injured.

It was unclear if the Uber driver had passengers inside the vehicle at the time of the shooting.

The incident is under investigation.
