Investigation Underway Into Metro Purple Line Subway Fatality

Koreatown, Los Angeles, CA: The Los Angeles Police Department is currently investigating the death of an individual struck by a Metro train early Thursday morning.

A train collision involving a pedestrian was reported just after midnight, May 18, on the 3500 block of Wilshire Boulevard at the Wilshire/Normandie Purple (D Line) subway station in Koreatown.

Los Angeles Fire Department personnel responded to the location and found one male, approximately in his 50s, not conscious and not breathing. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The LAPD responded and began their investigation.
